He was the founder of Sulabh International, he had named India worldwide in terms of cleanliness. The United Nations (UN) had also recognized his talent as iron and with his efforts, had recognized World Toilet Day on 19 November 2013.
He was known as the founder of Sulabh International, Sulabh Sanitation Movement and Sulabh Toilets across India and all over the world. He was born in Bihar and he completed his school education from Bihar government college and graduated in sociology from Patna University.
Pathak’s work is regarded as an innovator in social reform, mainly in the field of sanitation and hygiene. Similarly, he has also received various national and international awards including Padma Vibhushan.

His father’s name is Dr Karma Kant Pathak he was an Ayurvedic doctor and his mother’s name was Yogmaya Devi he was the second among his six siblings and he got married to his wife Amola in 1965 who is a resident of Mehanar in Vaishali district, Bihar and they were blessed with three children one son and two daughters.
Bindeshwar Pathak was awarded the Padma Vibhushan. His health suddenly deteriorated after the flag hoisting at Sulabh International’s office on Independence Day. After which he was taken to AIIMS, but he could not be saved.
