Liverpool sign Leipzig midfielder Szoboszlai in €70m deal

Liverpool announced on Sunday that they had managed to secure the services of Dominik Szoboszlai, an immensely talented midfielder, from RB Leipzig, the leading Bundesliga club.

The acquisition marks Liverpool’s second signing under their new sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, following the addition of Alexis Mac Allister. The intention behind this player is to revive Liverpool’s midfield after an underwhelming season.

Recognized for his expertise on set pieces, as well as his goalscoring ability and versatility in a variety of midfield positions, Szoboszlai will proudly wear the number 8 shirt. The jersey has historical significance as it was previously worn by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and most recently by Naby Keita, who has now clear the number.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s esteemed manager, personally witnessed Szoboszlai’s talent during his midfield formative years at Red Bull Salzburg. Klopp credits Szoboszlai’s incredible growth and development since then, especially in the Bundesliga, where he also captained the Hungary national team at a young age.
