Brandon Truter Reveals Why Orlando Pirates are the Favorites to Win the Nedbank Cup

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter has revealed why he believes the Orlando Pirates are the favorites to win the Nedbank cup this weekend.

Truter’s side will visit the Buccaneers at the Loftus stadium this Saturday 27 May in the Nedbank cup final as the club will be seeking their first ever Nedbank cup title.

Having just joined the club last year in November 2022, Truter has managed to guide Sekhukhunile to their first ever final in top-flight football and the coach will look to continue and win it with his team.

Truter also managed to turn things around at the club after he took charge as the club sat 15th in the log table and managed to finish inside the top eight in the Premiership log table etc.

Sekhukhune also managed to claim four points against the Soweto Giants in the league this season and the club will be looking to replicate their dstv Premiership form against the Pirates in the Nedbank cup final this weekend.

But Babina Noko has been labeled as the underdog in the clash as the Buccaneers have enjoyed a fine run of form after the club also beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals to advance to the final.

Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s highly anticipated game, Truter revealed why he agreed with claims the Pirates are the favorites to win the Nedbank cup this weekend.

“It’s no secret that the Orlando Pirates are the favorites to win the Cup given their performance. Also, the Pirates have won MTN8 this season, and you saw their performance against AmaZulu last weekend. I mean they beat AmaZulu 4-0,” the coach said in his pre-match press conference.
