Chelsea were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after losing 2-0 to Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. The Blues lost the last eight last week first leg 2-0 and followed that up with another loss at home. Two goals from Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes gave Real Madrid a deserved win over the Blues.
Here are three Chelsea players who performed well against Real Madrid.
Reece James
It was absolutely discouraging in the first half to find any openings, and it looked like that took its toll when he pulled up before the half-time whistle. Looked his most formidable threat all night but faded as play wore on as he was spent. Deserves credit for his efforts.
Thiago Silva
The Brazilian defender literally marked France striker Karim Benzema off a game in what looks to be his last Champions League appearance for the Blues.
Wesley Fofana
Faring much better against livewire Vinicius Junior than the previous week. Added some reinforcements and armor to the right flank, behind Reece James covered a lot of ground. Near metronomic accuracy in his passing too.
